As one of the leading Seattle area breweries, we're incredibly proud at Lowercase Brewing of our extensive range of award-winning local beers. But while everything we do is brewed in Seattle, we've combined our knowledge and experience with ingredients that are carefully sourced from around the world to produce an international-style range that will satisfy any beer lover's craving wherever it might come from.
So whether you're a Seattle native or a visitor taking in our wonderful city, let us guide you on a trip around the world by introducing you to some of our favorite world craft beers lovingly born right here in the Evergreen State.
Take a Trip Around the World With Our Seattle Area Brewery’s Award-Winning Local Beer
Here at Lowercase Brewing, lovers of fine independent craft beers will find a range of at least 13 brews in our Taproom. You'll discover a range including winners of no fewer than seven Washington Beer Awards, with six of them being the top gold medal. We have even been fortunate enough to be named the WBA 2019 Mid-Sized Brewery of the Year.
We're brought the very best international ingredients to our Seattle area breweries. We have worked hard to be able to produce authentic world tastes polished with our local beer know-how and look forward to welcoming you in for a sample.
Italian Pilsner
At 4.9% ABV, this classic Italian-style Pilsner lager is a refreshing and light brew with crisp floral flavors. We have to pay close attention to the accurate fermentation temperature and exact water input to get this beer just right. Dry-hops are added in a multi-stage process, and the result is a Pilsner beer that stands head and shoulders above the average offering.
The result is so good that our Italian Pilsner was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for “Collaboration Beer” at the 2018 WA Beer Awards.
Mexican Lager
We present our take on the perfect brew from south of the border. With a 4.5% ABV, like all good Mexican-style lagers, we offer a drink that is light and refreshing and perfect for relaxed drinking in the sun with or without lime. To be as authentic as possible, we've brewed this beer in the original Vienna Lager style.
German yeast and malts are used with patience, and the result is a clean and pale light-amber beer that has been repeatedly honored at the WA Beer Awards with 2019 Gold, 2017 Silver, and 2018 Bronze in the “Other Lagers” category. It's naturally a perfect accompaniment to spicy foods and is a popular takeaway from the Taproom.
Pale Ale
Sourced from Bavaria, Germany, we use a base of Munich malt with our own Copeland variety from Washington's Skagit Valley to brew a delicious 4.8% ABV ale that we customize throughout the year.
To supplement these strong German and American beginnings, we bring in an additional selection of delightful hops to adjust the brew on a changing schedule. Your bartender will be able to explain the up-to-date menu and guide you through the variety that's on offer when you visit the Taproom.
Strata India Pale Ale
This India Pale Ale comes in at 6.0% ABV and has a fruity citrus flavor that makes it a very popular choice in the Taproom.
The unique “Strata” hop that was developed at the Oregon State University is one of our firm favorites and allows us to brew an ale that stands ahead in the crowded IPA space.
Rye India Pale Ale
Our 6.3% ABV brew combines Washington's Skagit Valley Copeland malt, Mount Hood and Centennial hops, and plenty of rye to give a dry and almost spicy floral ale that's not too bitter and highly drinkable.
The Rye India Pale Ale is another multi-award winner for Lowercase Brewing, having been recognized three years running in the WA Beer Awards “Rye Beer” category, including the Gold Medal in 2017.
English Extra Special Bitter
Our traditional English-style Extra Special Bitter (ESB) uses authentic Maris Otter malt grown in the UK that Lowercase Brewing especially imports. We bring our US expertise into play with Golding hops, and the result is an amber beer with a malty taste topped by a hop finish with subtle fennel flavors.
It's another of our award winners, having been recognized with the “English-Style Bitters” Gold Medal at the 2019 WA Beer Awards and the Silver in “Amber/Red Ales” at the 2018 “Best of the NorthWest.”
English Brown Ale
The Brown Ale is the working man's brew from the other side of the Atlantic ocean and will be well-known to anyone that's visited the North East of England. The Lowercase Brewing take on it has proved its authenticity by winning Bronze in the “English-Style Brown Ales” category at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival.
Our brown ale is a 5.4% ABV special that is smooth to drink while preserving the traditionally complex English flavors. It might not be as well-known as other craft beers, but real enthusiasts will hunt this brown ale down to enjoy.
Other Choices
The magnificent seven above are our featured regulars, but we rotate an additional selection throughout the year in our Taproom to tempt you when you visit. As always, our helpful staff will be more than happy to guide you through the selection to help you make your choice. Popular craft beer options you might be lucky enough to try include:

Visiting Lowercase Brewing
We started brewing beer in our basement as a hobby, but we figured we might be onto something when we heard how much our friends enjoyed it. So, from our humble beginnings, we are proud to welcome you to our Georgetown Taproom on Airport Way South so you can try out our craft beers for yourself. As well as the beer range, we have cider and wine on tap, and if you need a caffeine wake-up, cold-brew coffee from our friends at Seven Bean Roasters.
There's also a small but beautifully formed snack-style menu to go with your beverage of choice. There's Homemade Pub Mix, Okazu Pan Pastries in three flavors, Landjäger spicy meat with mustard and sauerkraut, Soft Pretzels served warm with homemade beer cheese, or you can just take advantage of our free house Popcorn. You can enjoy a table in our Taproom where booking in advance is recommended, or choose our heated outdoor patio, which is both kid and dog friendly.
